Development Board PLCcore-E660
The Development Board included in the Kit facilitates quick commissioning of the ECUcore-E660 and simplifies the design of prototypes for user-specific applications based on this module. The Development Board features several possibilities for power supply, two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, connections for CAN bus, USB, HD audio, two SATA ports, SD card slot, LVDS and serial DVO display support. 4 push buttons and 4 LED as control elements for the digital in- and outputs. As control elements for the digital in- and outputs, the Development Board contains a push button, three LED and a potentiometer for analog input. Signals that are available from plug connectors of the ECUcore-E660 are linked to pin header connectors and enable easy connection of own peripheral circuitry.
OpenPCS IEC 61131 programming system
The OpenPCS IEC 61131 programming system included in the Kit serves as software development platform and as debug environment for the PLCcore-E660. Thus, the module can either be programmed graphically in LD/FUB, SFC and CFC or textually in IL or ST. Downloading the PLC program onto the module takes place via Ethernet or CANopen – depending on the firmware that is used. High-capacity debug functionality such as watching and setting variables, single cycles, breakpoints and single steps simplify the development and commissioning of user software for this module. |

SpiderControl MicroBrowser
The integrated Target Visualization of the PLCcore-E660 is based on the SpiderControl MicroBrowser by the iniNet Solutions GmbH. It enables for displaying of process values from the PLC as well as forwarding of operator actions to the PLC (e.g. keyboard inputs).
VMware Image Linux - ECUcore-E660
Besides OpenPCS, the PLCcore Development Kit comes with a ready-to-use development environment for writing C/C++ application which can be executed simultaneously to the PLC program. This C/C++ development environment is pre-installed in a VMware virtual machine. The player required to start the virtual machine is available free of charge. The provision of virtual machines for application development provides a number of advantages to the end-user. Installation of new software on your development PC is reduced to the VMware player. Installation of the PLCcore development environment and related project files is not necessary and therefore eliminates a number of possible pitfalls for new users. You can easily keep a working copy of your virtual machine for backup. In case of data loss you can switch to your backup virtual machine and you’ll be productive again immediately. |
